There is something whimsical and magical about losing yourself in a children’s book and joining the world and imagination of your mini me. One of my favorite times of the day is story time with my daughter and waiting to see what books she chooses. For a brief part of my day, I can get lost with her in the thick, chunky pages filled with adventures and discovery. No matter how many times we read each book, her joy and surprise at the butterfly emerging from that cocoon or the alphabet falling out of the coconut tree make her squeal and light up.
Oh to be a kid again.
It was no surprise to me when my sister requested a storybook themed shower to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her baby boy. Since she’s a teacher, she understands the wonderful world of books. It was an absolute joy planning a party around some beloved children’s classics.
